SUNS KINGS RECAP

We didn't beat our own mark of 47 1st quarter points, but a 117-102 win is good enough for the Suns and me. Notable performances included:

Phoenix Suns-
  • Steve Nash went 3-3 from the free throw line, and put up a double-double with 12 points and 15 assists. He turned the ball over only twice and picked up 2 steals.
  • Grant Hill had a solid all-round game with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.
  • Shawn "the Matrix" Marion had an even better all-round game with 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.
  • Leandro Barbosa put up 22 points without much else in terms of stats.
  • The big thing tonight was Amare who dropped 31 points, 17 rebounds (10 on the offensive end), and added his own block.
  • All Phoenix starters had +/- ratings in the teens with Raja Bell leading the way with +18.
Sacramento Kings-
  • With Artest, Bibby, and K-Mart out, Francisco Garcia led the way with 30 points and 6 boards.
  • John Salmons made some shots to get a total of 23 points with 7 boards.
  • Brad Miller did a decent job with 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists from the center position.
  • Mikki Moore helped his team with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
  • This team's stinker was Beno Udrih, who only got 6 points on 3 of 10 shooting and knocked up a -19 +/- rating.
A solid win for the Suns who have now won three straight to close out 2008.
